Mare contraception

Putting some mares on contraception is a tool to help Members manage herd numbers in their semi-wild herd.  The mare contraception scheme is run in partnership with Friends of the Dartmoor Hill Pony and Southmoor Equine Vets; it is now in its sixth year.  Please get in touch if you would like scheme information. Colt cutting

Members can access gelding for their colts at greatly reduced cost.  This is offered in partnership with Friends of the Dartmoor Hill Pony and Moorgate Vets.  Please see the News page for colt-cutting dates.

Lobbying

Members benefit from developments brought about by the lobbying activities of the Association committee on their behalf.  The Association works tirelessly to ensure that the true value of pony herds on Dartmoor are recognised by all.
